Miley's Cake Smash & Splash Photoshoot | Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire Photographer
I have been photographing Miley throughout her first year due to the amazing My First Year package that I offer. It’s such a great chance to capture 3 important stages/milestones into their first year, starting with Newborn, a sitter session at around 6-7 months and of course a cake smash and splash to celebrate their first birthday.
Little Miley has been absolute dream to photograph over her first year and I have always enjoyed seeing her again. Her cake smash was so much fun. Miley’s lovely auntie is a local Hemel Hempstead baker and baked her a beautiful and delicious looking cake. I always provide the cakes for my cake smashes but if you’d like to bring your own then that is no problem at all!
We started off the session with a few portraits. Miley loved playing with all the cute toys I laid out for her and we managed to get so many cute smiles and giggles. I always have an ever growing selection of clothes that are available for you to use. Again, you’re welcome to bring your own and we can do out changes throughout the portrait part of the session if you wish.
How adorable is that little tutu skirt! I’m always trying to find new things for the studio for your little ones to play with during their sessions. I bought the most gorgeous wooden blocks from a small business on Instagram and since have been such a favourite in the studio. We stack them up and then you little one is so quick to knock them back down again.
After little Miley had some portraits, out comes the most buttercreamy and super girly birthday cake! Miley’s eyes literally lit up as soon as she saw the cake come out. You could tell how excited she was to get smashing and eating!
Miley absolutely loved her cake, which I’m sure by the photos you can totally tell! Both hands were fully loaded ready for another mouthful. She ate so much and no cake went to waste as you can take rest home with you. Is there a better way to celebrate your little one’s 1st birthday. It’s the best thing ever to watch how your babies react to their cakes. We popped the cake down in front of Miley, she needed no encouragement. She went straight in and absolutely loved it! Cake Smashes really are so much fun and we all end up in piles of laughter.
After your little one has had enough of the cake (or have to have the cake taken away from them haha) the little baby bath comes out. As much as I love the cake part of the shoot, the bath bit is just so cute. Filled with the most delicious smelling baby friendly bubble bath and the studios collection of bath toys. I use the Child’s Farm collection as they have the most beautiful scents and they’re really safe for children. But of course, if you would like to bring your own bubbles then you are more than welcome to do so.
Miley loved splashing about in the little baby bath and playing with the cute little bath toys. She splashed so much that the studio was flooded. But she had the best time, laughing away and playing with the bubbles in the tub. Being able to splash about and make as much mess as you can without getting told off, is like a little babies dream!
