I shouldn’t have favourites, I don’t have favourites but photographing babies is just the best. When they’re between 6 months and their 1st birthday, this is one age I love to photograph. I love how there little personalities start to shine through. How squishy they are, sitting there with baby rolls everywhere is just the cutest thing ever. I just love it and get so excited to photograph this age. I’m lucky enough to be able to photograph so many babies of this age, whether they’re coming back into the studio for their 6 month shoot from the My First Year package or as a one off, theres so many to photograph!

It’s also very cute when they start to interact with the wooden toys in the studio, they usually poke them and just stare at them but it’s honestly the sweetest thing and moments like this make for such natural photographs with their little gummy smiles!

My style of photography is also perfect for this age. The studio is so minimal and not over crowded by lots of big scary lights. Everything is simple. Less is more and I am a huge believer in that. The attention should all be on your little one with no distractions. I don’t use bright and colourful props in the studio, all the toys are wooden and truly look stunning in your photographs, meaning all the attention and pure focus is on your little one. That’s what it’s all about.

I am forever growing the studio wardrobe. I have lots of beautiful white baby grows in all sizes from 0 to 12 months as well as nappy covers, dresses and tops. These are all to use during the session. But you’re more than welcome to bring your own. Anything white works so well and looks so timeless.

Baby sessions can also have the parents to jump in a few photos too, I love capturing all those snuggles and kisses and those are the moments that should be treasured forever.
