Covid-19 - Keeping Safe At Abbie Wyatt Photography | Hemel Hempstead
Health and Safety has always come first when photographing my clients. It’s so important that my studio is kept super safe for everyone. But more so then ever it’s something everyone needs to take even more seriously. Guidelines are changing all the time and I always keep my eye on what’s going on. So if anything on here is out-of-date, then please keep in mind this guide was written as of 18th June 2020 and I will try to keep it as up-to-date as possible.
I will be talking through my new Health & Safety procedures that I will be putting in place with immediate effect when my studio is able to reopen again. Most of these procedures is standard practice before and after each and every session before Covid, but it’s important to highlight them again.
I have created a guide below of my updated guidelines.
Studio cleaning policy after each session:
My studio is always kept clean. Before and after each session, everything gets washed, floors are mopped, surfaces wiped, equipment/toys are cleaned and my whole studio is sanitised ready for the next one.
New mask & gloves used for every session:
A new addition to the studio is now the use of masks and gloves. Masks and gloves may be used during sessions depending on guidelines. Please wear a face mask when coming to your session. If you forget to bring one, I will be charging £1 per face mask.
Fabrics are sanitised after each session:
As always, each and every fabric I use during my sessions are put through the wash. Fabrics are washed using a baby/child friendly washing liquid.
No shoes are allowed in the studio:
All shoes must be taken off upon entering the studio and placed either inside/outside in a plastic box (weather depending).
All props and blankets cleaned for each session:
I always make this a standard procedure before and after my sessions. All props are sanitised and cleaned before they are used. As said above, blankets are also washed after each session using a baby/child friendly washing liquid.
Session to involve immediate family only:
My studio is only very small and clients who are returning will know this. It’s the perfect amount of space to photograph your little babies as well as capturing parents too. I have always tried to keep sessions down to only 2 adults and the children that are being photographed. This is now a strict guideline for the studio. Only 2 adults per session will be allowed into the studio and no more. Unfortunately Aunties, Uncles, Nans & Grandads will not be allowed to enter the studio with you (unless they are your other adult). Please keep sessions to 2 adults and the child/children that are being photographed.
Other important information to take note of:
- I will only be allowing 1 session per day, leaving 24 hours between clients and ensuring a big deep clean is done after each and every session.
- Hand sanitiser will be available to use upon arrival and used during the session. This is super important that frequent sanitising is taking place.
- If YOU or ANY member of your family feels ill, has a high temperature or any symptoms of illness then you must NOT come for your session. You must message me to postpone and we will rearrange for when you are feeling better. It is SO important that you make me aware. My studio is based in my family home and I also have to keep my family safe too. It is absolutely no problem if you need to postpone. There is no fee to postpone, so PLEASE ensure you stick to this. I also take this very seriously, so please be aware that if I’m feeling unwell or any member of my family is unwell, then I will postpone your session. I will NOT take any risks.
- Where possible and weather depending, windows and doors will be kept opened throughout the studio. I will be opening them a few hours before to ensure a fresh air flow. Luckily it’s Summer!
- If possible card or bank transfer payments are preferred.
- I always offer drinks upon arrival to the studio. Tea and Coffee is available as well as cold drinks. But unfortunately, I will not be offering drinks from my kitchen. The studio doesn’t have it’s own coffee and tea station (due to the size) so until further notice, bottled water will be available if you so wish.
- My sessions are usually an hour long but sometimes we over run. I will do my best to keep these sessions to an hour or just under.
As always if anyone has any questions at all, then please feel free to message me! I can’t wait to be back in the studio very soon! ❤️
